Why I’m Thankful for My Guild
While this post is something I’ve wanted to write for a long time and I’ve always put it off for fear of being too sappy or too corny with my thoughts. However, after a long week, I feel it’s time to write an open letter to the members of my guild and my team.
This week we were able to accomplish our AOTC kill on Jaina after 3 full nights of wiping and so many close attempts. Downing this boss was a great achievement for us because while the fight had simple mechanics, it required teamwork, coordination, and basically forced the entire team to survive to the end
I felt such joy and pride in all members of my team. It was worth all the tension and stress during progression. It may not have been world first or mythic Jaina, but we felt proud nonetheless.
However, this isn’t why I’m thankful for my guild. Killing bosses is only a small part of what we do as a group. I’m thankful to the members of my guild for all the support and love they show, not only to me, but to each other as well.
I’m excited to know such an amazing group of people who have committed their time, energy, and resources to help our guild accomplish great things. I’m grateful to call these people friends and family. I’m blessed to have found people from all over the world who make gaming exciting and fun and bring happiness to what can sometimes be a stressful situation.
Raiding can be such work some weeks. Buying supplies, being prepared, devoting personal time to learning and executing these fights requires the right mentality and mindset. It’s certainly not for everybody and sometimes people fall off for whatever reason. However, we’ve gathered a group of people who have stuck with us from the beginning and who I can count on each and every week.
I spend a lot of time each week pushing my teammates to be better. “Eat your food! Pop a rune! Buff up and we are going again!” Unfortunately, I don’t get a lot of time to just say “thank you”. So th
My goal for VTR is beyond just AOTC kills. It expands beyond a normal guild and I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you in the best way that I could. So, great job Voidwalker Texas Ranger! You’re the best!
